The surface of the heating cable must not exceed the maximum temperature of the constructional materials or the Termperature Classification if installed in a hazardous area. This is ensured by limiting the pipe or workpiece temperature to a safe level either by design calculation or by means of temperatue control devises.

| MicroTracer (EMTS) is a constant wattage cable that can be used for freeze protection and temperature maintainance of pipework and vessels. It has a maximum temperature of 200°C (392°F).
MicroTracer (EMTS) is particularly suited to refrigeration applications, small bore instrument lines or process pipework located in non-hazardous areas. MicroTracer (EMTS) is made from silicone rubber and as a result is very flexible and suited to applications where flexibility is important.
MicroTracer (EMTS) can be cut-to-length at site to match exact piping lengths without any complicated design considerations.
The installation of MicroTracer (EMTS) is quick and simple and requires no special skills or tools. Termination, splicing and power connection components are all provided in convenient kits. See Product, Application and Documentation Links below. | |

MicroTracer (EMTS) is available in 6.5, 13, 23, 33 and 50 W/m outputs as illustrated on the graph to the right. The graph shows the nominal power output at 230V when installed on insulated metal pipes. Click on the graph to see a larger version.
